Mcdonaldization
Mcdonaldization is when an organization adapts to become faster, cheaper, and easier to access so that everyone will use/buy it more often. This applies to many things such as food and clothing. While this may benefit the company in maximizing its profit, it is not good for anyone else. The workers are often in other countries so that the company doesn't have to pay them as much as they would in the U.S. This leads to underpaying their overworked employees. It can also be bad for the environment because, in order to send the product to the consumer quickly, they need to make it ahead of time. So then, if they end up overestimating how many people will buy their product, there is too much made and they wasted all the materials for it to just sit in a landfill for hundreds of years. Through this, people think that all products should be the price created by these companies, causing them to buy from small businesses less, and big corporations more. This then makes small businesses fail, which makes them have to close.
